[They finally manage to get the little chick out, but it continues to show its protest on being forced out by trying to bury itself among its siblings.
Who are chirping up a storm.]

[Benedikta reaches out to nudge Bidowlfin, and he stumbles forward in surprise.]

[More hooting, and Benedikta snorts as she glances at Cid.]
He is nervous that we will be here waiting for him.

[Willow pecks him, preening his feathers gently around his face, and whatever she hoots to him seems to give him some newfound vigour.

[Willow puffs her feathers with a knowing look. Hoot hoot.]
But we don't necessarily have to stay idle, either. Is there anything we can help with? Perhaps something that requires a more "human touch" that would be difficult for an owl?

But she notes the more sheepish way that Willow answers, and she takes a moment to pay attention to the babies, like she is searching for a way to explain before Benedikta listens to the string of noises.]

I suppose it would be nerve-wracking to raise a small family way out here. Do you think it will be safer close to us?
[Hooooot~ in a yes that Benedikta translates with a nod. Fair enough, they are quite high up and oftentimes they can get predators swooping in from above or climbing from below, though the former is more likely around here. Still, she can see the risks.
But she looks at Cid with a grin.]
... I think Bidowlfin also misses us.

Should have considered all that before deciding to build a nest way out here.
[Granted, it's not a bad space, either. However!! They could have been close to them from the start!!! He's also going to blame Bidowlfin and not Willow—]
But if it's moving a nest you'd like, then that shouldn't be any trouble at all. Would be better if we could prepare a suitable one...unless you'd like to take this whole nest with you?
[He stares at its structure, and while it would certainly be strong enough where it is, carrying it, and likely through flying...is a bit worrisome.]

[Not that she boasts to know much about owls in the first place, but having them just freshly hatched and then moving them might be confusing? She doesn't know.
But she looks at Willow with a reassuring smile.]
I am sure that Cidolfus could figure something out to make a safe home for you all... yes? That tree in our yard would be big enough?

Aye, I remember it has a hollow that would be perfect for them. And I doubt it would be any less confusing no matter the age—their eyes aren't quite open so it might actually be easier to move them while they're still hatchlings.
Still, would likely need to use a bucket of sorts to safely transfer them, and Willow could sit on them the entire time to keep them warm. They would be none the wiser for certain then.

It might be easier for you to carry them in that case. The movement from my wings might shake them too much, and you can fly a little smoother.
[A pause, as Willow gives a low purring hoot.]
But I think we should first ensure that the tree is cleared out. We could build something inside of it to ensure warmth and comfort?

How long do you suppose building something might take? It does not need to be complicated or extravagant...
[Willow hoots almost indignantly at that, and Benedikta gives her a look.]

Not too long at all. If we use the hollow of the tree, there's not much else needed. It's summer now so we don't have to worry about it getting too cold, and outside of perhaps creating a special door of sorts to help keep out potential nosy predators, they should be quite safe inside. Only other things I could think of would be some place for them to store food...and perhaps a way for them to get rid of waste if they're so inclined.

[Benedikta ponders thoughtfully, her legs swaying back and forth under them.]

[Willow looks at him and hoots cheerfully, giving a flap of her wings.]
Even she agrees. But that is quite clever... Could even use some of those cat toys you developed a long time ago for Ashtail.

I only meant when they're younger, before they can even fly or leave the area properly. Give them a bit of a headstart.

I am sure that we will figure out something. Those sorts of things do not even need to be priority anyway, as long as they have a place to live in the meantime. So we've time to figure it out.
[Willow hoots in agreement, and hops into the nest to nudge her beak at her babies, cooing at them lovingly. There's a most subtle squeeze of Benedikta's fingers around his, unknowingly.]

[Just a wink, but he'll later feel that squeeze as she watches them, and there will be a more subtle glance at her before they'll hear the flutter of wings as Bidowlfin returns with some mice he's caught. Just the right size for small little beaks.]
But at least for now, they at least have someowl to handle it.
