[Just going to look at her with a slight arched brow.]

[Her smile turns soft as she finishes up the streak of yellow and now moves on.]
They're mostly musicals and dances there.
no subject
[Just a teasing look before he starts painting the blue.]
But that should be fine. I know the Naughtilust has more of a night life just by its nature... So if that's something you want to do, we can set a date for it.
no subject
[She's catching up to him in the paint, at least! One colour behind him!]
Just make sure you pick out something nice to wear.
no subject
How "nice" should I be aiming for?
no subject
Hm. Well, if we're going out for a night on the town, then I'd say as nice as you can make it... while still being comfortable. A suit?
no subject
Suit, huh... When was the last time I wore one in this world... Ghoul's Moon? That ball?
no subject
[And that was the last time she got to wear some super elegant dress, too!]
Even the last date we went on, it was more casual, wasn't it? And I'm not about to have you wear a suit out camping.
no subject
Definitely not. But we can do something different like that... I could try and look into what else is there, too.
[Small pause.]
Would you want to spend the night there?
no subject
.....
She hadn't even thought of it, but after a moment of not hesitation but to let that feeling of warmth sink into her:]
Yeah. I think we should. I know there are some nicer places around the leviathan that we could find. Not like the last time we were there.
no subject
Leave that to me, then.
no subject
[And now she's onto the blue—! Still always one colour behind.]
If you're sure... Do you even know where?
no subject
[And this one is going to be pretty short given that it's on the inside, so just one quick sweep and he's done. But he is going to go back and smooth out some of the lines.]
Do you have any particular preferences?
no subject
[A shake of her head and a shrug of her shoulders.]
Not really. Someplace nice? And some thicker walls would be good... I-I mean, because of what happened last time!
no subject
So we don't hear others or... They don't hear us?
no subject
She responds at first with a soft clearing of her throat, and pretends that didn't just happen.]
Hm... a little bit of both?
[In spite of her efforts to keep her voice steady, she fails.]
... It's not that loud, is it?
[Wait no, she's totally going to regret saying that—]
no subject
Not sure...might have to try again to see. But even if it's not...
[With a movement as if he's bringing the paintbrush down, it actually brings him right down to her head and his lips are now by her ear as he speaks quiet and low against it.]
I'll make it so.
no subject
And when she speaks, she doesn't mean to sound so breathless.]
... That sounds like a challenge.
no subject
no subject
[She tries so very hard to focus on the paint, but with him so close, he makes it difficult for her. She has one colour left...! And so she'll do a quick streak of purple before he does something else—
So with that done...]
There. All finished!
[Just going to pretend that her cheeks aren't burning.]
no subject
Looks good.
[Both the painting and her own expression.]
no subject
Does it really?
[She raises a hand, searching for his to use to pull herself up. Not that she needs it, but it's a good excuse to take it.]
Messed up a little at the end...
no subject
Seeing her reach up, he'll take her hand to help her up, but doesn't let it go. Instead he'll hold her close against him.]
Got distracted?
[BULLY.]
no subject
Mm-hm. No thanks to you.
[She slides up to him, her arms slipping around his waist when he holds her closer, and as she rests her head against his chest, she looks at the finished mural.]
... But even with the distractions, I'd say we did a good job. Perfect, even.
no subject
Almost... It's missing one thing.
