[Feeling her face flush, she chews on the inside of her lip and turns her head away from him, pretending that she's more interested in the busy lobby of the inn than him, but her fingers do fumble a bit to grip his hand a little tighter.

Clearing her throat, she motions to the front desk.]

So, you will be getting us a room, then? Be sure that it's one with a pool.

[ramuhs]

Of course.

[And he sees that flush, that grin deepening. See, this is why he can't really be jealous of those silly penguins.

Though speaking of penguins...

When they reach the front, they will be in for a surprise as a penguin is right there. It's a different kind, and more like a "person" as it is bigger and shows more intelligence than the common penguin they faced outside.

But still. What a coincidence...

Anyway, Cid will make the arrangements, and fortunately there are a few rooms with a private pool available that are affordable for one night.]

[garudas]

[Benedikta stiffens when they reach the front desk and she sees that large penguin man standing there. He eyes her with some interest, and she can feel them burning into her as he makes the arrangements with Cid, her own gaze turned elsewhere after giving him her most threatening stare.

And once they're done and have their key, leaving their bags behind to have them brought to the room for them, she drags him away.]

I do hope there are fences around the pool. [She glances back over her shoulder to the man at the desk.] Wouldn't want them sneaking in there.

[Whether Cid noticed the penguin's look, he makes no sign of it. On the one hand, Benedikta is quite the head turner, so it's just something that he's already used to and half expects it. In some ways that could be a point of pride. On the other hand... Hm.....

In any case, with key and map of the entire springs in one hand and hers in another, he just leads the way with his usual nonchalance.]

[She shifts uncomfortably as they walk.]

The penguins.

[Including the one at the desk. Ugh, why does she still feel like he is staring at her as they leave the lobby?]

[A slight frown as he glances at her.]

They were relentless, Cidolfus. And how many of them were there between us? I'd like to enjoy my bath.

Don't you worry now. Apparently the private pools are further in, so it would be quite the walk through all the other areas to get to where we are.

[garudas]

Ugh. So I've heard.

[That still doesn't mean birds won't find a way, the stubborn fuckers. She groans, scratching the back of her neck as she feels her hairs prickle there.]

But then there was that one at the front desk...

[Now why is he feeling a little annoyed—]

Nothing will happen, but if you keep thinking about it you might actually curse yourself. Let's just find our room and enjoy ourselves, shall we?

[And there she goes, getting defensive.]

And what else should I be? It was just a penguin, likely will never see it again. Besides, not the first time—

[Yes, she's talking about it because she's still mad!!!

And even more annoyed when he clearly has something to say about it too, and isn't saying it, so when he stops mid-sentence, she whips her stern, scrutinizing stare right around to him.]

Not the first time what, Cidolfus?

[Finish that sentence. SHE DARES HIM.]

Oh come off it, like you never had anyone approach you, Ms. Penguin Harem.

[He dared, and worse.]

[He really did dare, and she is actually offended?]

Like Miss Pelican who thought all your terrible jokes were so funny?

[WHAT KIND OF POINT IS HE TRYING TO MAKE ANYMORE he doesn't know but he got too caught up in this whatever argument they are having. Okay no he does have a point, but also caught up in this. ]

[She looks at him expectantly through her ire.]

[A dead stare continues before he holds up a hand (the other still somehow holding hers despite their little argument) and counting off.]

There was the stork who tried to buy you coffee, the heron who came up to you while I was getting food, the duck who was staring at you, a pigeon who walked towards you but chickened out, the—

Honestly he has more examples of normal men as well... And of course back in Naughtilust and especially the masquerade, but he won't bring that up here.]

[Each one he lists off only makes the lines of her frown deepen, and as they stop in front of their door, she blocks the handle and their way in so that she can turn to him.]

And? That was before—

[Ugh, THIS MAN!!! She would shriek in her frustration if they weren't standing in the middle of the hallway, and there is a couple that sidle past, staring at them, but she pays them no mind.]

If I didn't know any better, I'd say you were still jealous.

[ramuhs]

Hah, jealous? Of them? Or you having a flock chasing after you?

Well certainly not about the amount of attention, he's glad to not be bothered by that. But to her getting that attention, we'll. Maybe he is and doesn't realize it. Also why is she stopping instead of going inside? Just going to try and reach over to unlock the door—]

[Because they're still arguing talking??? She isn't done with him yet, but she doesn't move to try and stop him from unlocking the door, and instead stands firmly rooted where she is.

And she scoffs at him over the sound of the keys in the lock.

At what? She doesn't know. She has no idea what the fuck they are even arguing about anymore or why he got so upset about it in the first place!]

You tell me, Cidolfus. If I flew off to hold their wings instead, what would you have to say about it?

[He's not upset?? She is??]
