[A. Network Post - Elemental Energy Survey

The camera opens to...an absolute riot of plants. Most of them are flowering. Most of them are also between six to eight feet tall, with the mourning flowers somehow making it to nine. Kaveh looks a little sheepish about this backdrop, but it does well to showcase the butterflies fluttering around him.]

Hi, hello, please don't mind the garden. I had this put on the Manta Board, but I thought it'd be useful to talk about it here as well.

[He holds a hand up so one of the butterflies lands on it--it's a palm-sized mechanical butterfly with a crystalline container for...something as the body.]

I made these to collect ambient energy! I am hoping to get a better understanding how the elemental energy in this world behaves and how we're effecting it, so taking these around to a variety of different places and recording the results will be a great help to me. They don't need much input to do their job, but I'd be happy to answer any questions about them.

...On an unrelated note, I don't suppose anyone is experienced with gardening? Or plant magic?

I don't know much about gardens or plant magic. The best I am with that kind of stuff is not stepping on the flowers.

But I can probably help with a couple of those butterflies.

[He sighs, but smiles.] Oh, that's excellent news. I have...quite a few of them here, if you don't want to get them from the manta office.

Did you make these things? That's pretty crafty.

The butterflies? They're a modified version of something I made back home. I'd just been tinkering with them in my spare time.

[It's fine they're just incredibly lifelike mechanical butterflies no big deal.]

Seriously? That's insane, I didn't know you were an inventor.

I'm an architectural designer. Mechanical engineering is just part of my studies in Kshahrewar...though that's what's been in more demand here.

[Why does everyone think the butterflies and Mehrak are so impressive????]

Mechanical engineering, huh. Nice. [So Kaveh is a smart egghead too.] I can't say I know much about all of that but if this project helps, I'm all in. What do you think you'll be able to get out of the readings?

Right now, I'm looking for two things: One, this creates a base idea of what energy does and fluctuates around the Leviathan, and two, it may give us some insight into how people are affecting that energy.

We don't understand a lot about this world, but for the time being, we're all living in it. It'll be a good idea to understand better how we interact with that.

[He smiles.]

You're seriously invested in this. It's good to see because I think I agree. If we're living here we might as well find out more. I'll leave all the reading and science stuff to people like you and G'raha. I'll do the heavy lifting then.

Maybe? It's supposed to collect a bunch of energy, right? So I sent it out a bunch of times.

Are they supposed to explode?

no, but you're only supposed to send each one out once. how much they get filled is what we're measuring.

That ... might have been handy. Yeah.

So, yeah. I might have exploded a few of them. Sorry.
