[A small look of surprise as he glances down at her as he thinks and realizes that while he's "popped the question" every now and then, it has been a bit since the last.
[Well, when he asks it like that, it's embarrassing.
He'll feel her finger poke at his stomach, like she's counting down the seconds waiting for her thoughts to come to her, and her lips purse into a shy pout.]
[She leans into his hand, pressing her cheek to his warm palm and closes her eyes because she cannot bear to look at him right now out of sheer embarrassment.]
Perhaps I... missed knowing that you still wished to...
[Even if the answers were always either a flat no or a beat around the bush.]
[Close enough that she can move in and brush her lips over his, using it as an excuse to hide the growing flush in her cheeks.]
Mmm... I would not object to that.
[A light press of her lips in a brief kiss before she's pulling back far enough that she can see into his eyes, and him into hers. Her voice falls quiet, to a near whisper.]
...I like knowing that I am wanted...
[After spending so long wishing for it, missing it, and missing him, it feels nice to finally have that again.]
[She captures his lips with a light kiss, but there is a weight to it, too. Emotions and promises conveyed that she wishes him to know. A promise that, while she is sometimes afraid of what these deeper feelings mean, she would not run. That this is the place that she wants to be, overwhelmed or not.]
[She can feel the shift, small as it may be, she is so focused on him that every change in his expression is like a tide of new emotions. Not that it is a bad thing, she quite likes the way that it softens—a look that would have frightened her before but now, she basks in it the way a flower basks in sunlight. It gives her comfort, soothes and quiets the turmoil of emotions within her.]
... Better.
[She moves closer, tangling her legs between his, and presses another kiss to the corner of his lips.]
Better now that you are. [She pauses.] ... Do not go back in there.
Logically, he shouldn't. After what happened in there, he woukd be a fool to put himself at risk.
But those cultists, seeing what they were doing... He knows he said it wasn't something they should fully involve themselves in, but it would be a lie to say it isn't concerning.]
[She knows that it is asking for a lot, for him not to go back. But she is terrified, and rightly so. After what happened, how could she not be? And would he not ask the same thing of her, for all the same reasons?
What if he had been alone down there, and that soul had completely taken over and made it out? What if no one else could tell and let it happen? What if he got dragged into the Locker and no one could get him out?
A million different possibilities run through her head, and she shuts her eyes against them, letting out a breath.]

Have you had it written all this time? Lying in wait for the moment you are sure that I will say yes?
no subject
no subject
... I want to hear it.

no subject
So that is a no, then? How woefully unprepared.
no subject
[A very smug look.]
Only then.
no subject
[Definitely still teasing, even if she looks completely serious.]
no subject
[Wink~
Even if this is all teasing, he still manages a way.]
no subject
I am holding you to that.
[Whether there really is a song or fireworks or birds or not, she has a feeling that he will be sure that it is perfect.
She's quiet for another beat longer, her fingers playing with the hem of his shirt before dipping beneath, wanting to feel more of that warmth.]
You had stopped asking me for some time.

[A small look of surprise as he glances down at her as he thinks and realizes that while he's "popped the question" every now and then, it has been a bit since the last.
Was it after they moved in?]
no subject
He'll feel her finger poke at his stomach, like she's counting down the seconds waiting for her thoughts to come to her, and her lips purse into a shy pout.]
... Well, I had just wondered why.
[That is to say that yes, she misses it.]
no subject
Perhaps because in these past few weeks I forgot that we aren't officially wed yet.
no subject
Her eyes dart away first before they come back to meet his, and her lashes flutter at the thought, a little breath leaving her.]
I suppose that is true... We might as well be, hm?
no subject
[Slowly the hand at her chin rises to caress her cheek, smiling.]
But that doesn't mean I don't still want it to be real.
no subject
Perhaps I... missed knowing that you still wished to...
[Even if the answers were always either a flat no or a beat around the bush.]
no subject
He leans in closer, his voice lowering as subtle heat simmers in his gaze.]
Shall I remind you every night, then? Perhaps even long after?
no subject

[His voice is quiet and soft, as if trying to soothe and coax his precious lover while knowing that's not it at all.]
no subject
You always do... Perhaps too often.
[No, that's a lie. It is never enough.
And now it's her turn to draw him closer, a little tug with her arms around him.]
But are you saying that you would not want me to show you more?
no subject
I thought you would be too overwhelmed.
[His lips brush against hers.]
I've been holding back quite a bit, you know.
no subject
Has that ever stopped you before?
no subject
[A sly smile before it fades just a touch as his hand idly brushes her hair and he relishes in the warmth and presence of her.]
But how are you feeling now?
[He doesn't necessarily want to pull them out of their cozy mood, but he doesn't want anything that needs to be addressed go by unheard.]
no subject

I'll try.
no subject
What if he had been alone down there, and that soul had completely taken over and made it out? What if no one else could tell and let it happen? What if he got dragged into the Locker and no one could get him out?
A million different possibilities run through her head, and she shuts her eyes against them, letting out a breath.]
I would never forgive you if anything happened.
[And how could she forgive herself?]
