Who: Cidolfus Telamon & Benedikta Harman. Status: Closed. Where: Around places. What: Cid and Benedikta follow a lead and sneak into a fancy holiday party. Event stuff TBA. Warnings: it's them, what do you want from me
[She is nearly to her target — his coat so that she could climb up to his shoulder, but she scrambles and sputters when he picks her up by the scruff, her legs kicking.]
Cidolfus! Put me down!
[Several very non-threatening shrieks of his name and demands that he let her go later and she hangs there looking like an angry cat with a very, very large head.]
[Her words cut off when he takes out his phone, and from where she from his hand, she tries to reach out for it. Tries to claw at it and kick it and throw a bit of wind at it, but just like last time, it's the tiniest puff of air that barely manages to brush against his hand.]
You had better delete those.
[Her head expands a little more, her feathers all out of sorts, and he'll feel her slowly pushing his hand upward.]
[Gee, thanks. That makes up for everything else that he's done so far today!
But as he answers, she starts to climb out of his hand, using her claws to scale his shoulder so that she can sit on it and see who it is he's talking to. There's just one problem.
Once she crests the top of it, her claws miss grabbing hold of his coat again, and she starts to float upward.]
Shit. Cidolfus.
[She hisses at him, not wanting to draw more attention to herself by the others surrounding them, but when he doesn't hear her...]
Cidolfus!
[Up she goes, drifting like a balloon filled with helium into the air. Other people are now turning to stare at her as she shrieks at him, her head growing bigger with ire this time, making her float even faster towards the ceiling.
"Oh my god, mom! Look at the bird balloon!"
"I want one!"
"She's so cute!"
A few of the children point and gasp. Meanwhile, she continues to curse and scream his name as she flies further out of reach.]
[Is what he first says to her when she first calls to him, frowning as he tries to listen. Downside of using speaker is he also has the noise around him, and as the crewman starts to speak more animatedly, he sighs and turns it to normal to hold it up to his ear.
At this point his focus is on the conversation, not noticing or hearing Benedikta at first (and if he did he doesn't think more than she trying to get his attention to hear what's being said). But what was this? The toys attacking was true? Toys cursing people....?
It explained a few things, and there is at least word of cures being made so that's some good news. But before he can hear more, the chatter he had been trying to tune out had grown unusually louder and with a frown he looks around and then—]
What in the—I'll call you back.
[Hastily he ends the call and stands as he stares incredulously at Benedikta just floating free as a bird above him.]
[Another sharp cry of his name as she finally reaches the high ceiling of the lodge.]
Up here.
[As if he can't see her, and she curses again when her head bumps the ceiling, her feathers pressing flat against the top of it. She is furiously flapping her wings to try and move, but it doesn't seem to quite work the way she wants it to. And the excited cries of the children staring and watching are certainly not helping her head deflate. If anything, it is just getting worse!]
[She hits one of the big lights on the ceiling, and she has to push herself away with her wings. At least she can drift around horizontally... But it's getting down that's the problem. So she just glares at him and the kids while she tries.]
That's the thought, however I considered giving you some dignity to try and grab the rope when I toss it up.
[And now with a little crowd gathered around, the one from before runs back with the requested item. It didn't necessarily have to be twine, and the child was smart enough to know he just needed some long string or rope. So with the string handed to him, Cid borrows a clip ring to attach to one of the string. Need some weight to help it carry through the air after all!]
All right, this should do it. Ready to give it a go, my dove?
[The children giggle at that, the girls squeeing. An older gentleman trying to save his balloon wife!!! How romantic!!!]
[Gods, does he have to call her that and be so sweet about it? She's supposed to be angry with him!
The children all watch and wait with bated breath, excitement brewing in their eyes. And here is Benedikta struggling to fly down so that she can get closer to him. Her head is about the size of a small bowling ball now, and boy does the resistance feel like it. Except it is working against gravity, not with it.]
You are going to toss that up!?
[Ugh!! Well, whatever! She extends her claws out.]
no subject
[She would boop his nose if she could, but she does get up to clumsily half walk, half flutter across his leg.]
And you had it coming.
no subject
[A more wicked grin as he lets her half walk, half flutter before he dangles her by the that scruffy, feathery back of her neck like a cat.]
no subject
Cidolfus! Put me down!
[Several very non-threatening shrieks of his name and demands that he let her go later and she hangs there looking like an angry cat with a very, very large head.]
... Are you going to stuff me into your bosom?
no subject
Bit hard with all the layers.
[Instead...
...
He's going to take out his phone to record her again.]
no subject

You had better delete those.
[Her head expands a little more, her feathers all out of sorts, and he'll feel her slowly pushing his hand upward.]
no subject
Oh no, I'm keeping these!
[He'll just take one last picture before putting his phone away, shoulders shaking as he does push down on her and boops her tiny nose.]
no subject
Perhaps you should make yourself useful and start questioning some of the toys.
[SO THAT HE STOPS TEASING HER]
no subject
[He pokes her puffy cheek before bringing her in to hug her against his chest.]
I know it's difficult, but without more information available, we will have to wait.
no subject
[FROWNING at him, but she does lean into him anyway. He's nice and warm and she's a cold birdie.]
no subject
[No, he really has been bully.]
no subject
And so you would call this... [She kicks her feet, but then nuzzles into his chest.] Endearment? I will accept that if you delete those images.

[That sounds and feels weird coming from a tiny Garuda... even she winces at herself. This would be so much more effective if she were not.
She opens her mouth to say more again, but she's cut off by the ringing of his phone.]
no subject
No, very weird, and he feels a bit grateful for the phone. After pulling it out and seeing the ID—]
Hm, might have some news.
[—he'll glance at her before putting it on speaker. NOT video. See he's so nice.]
What's the situation?
no subject
But as he answers, she starts to climb out of his hand, using her claws to scale his shoulder so that she can sit on it and see who it is he's talking to. There's just one problem.

...
With a sigh he walk over to her with a troubled frown.]
I did suggest the string.
no subject
I am not a baβ
["Hey, mister! Is that your balloon? Where did you get it?" Several of the kids approach him.]
no subject
Not quite. She's my wife.
[Smirk.]
no subject
No, we are notβ
[Wait, why is that the thing that she is worried about!?
"Oooh, so you're married to a balloon?" One of the girl's eyes go wide with wonder as she stares up at Benedikta bobbing against the ceiling.
She flaps her wings some more, descending half a foot, before she's lifting again.]
Cidolfus, stop spreading lies! I am not a balloon.
no subject
[A small shrug before he looks to one of the kids.]
Mind getting me some long twine? I need to fetch my darling before she really starts floating away.
[One of them cheerfully obliges and runs off to get some.]
no subject
