closed 🌠⚡ tell me i'm the one you want...
Who: Tifa Lockhart & Eustace.
Status: Closed.
Where: Ocard flower gardens.
What: Eustace and Tifa finally go on their first date.
Warnings: Dunno yet :D
[After talking about it and all the planning and the anticipation, one would think that all that preparedness would leave her feeling at ease about the whole thing, but now that the day is finally here... not even Tifa had expected herself to be as nervous as she was. It's not as if they haven't spent any time together before this, or hadn't been quite as close, but there's just something about it being a date now—officially, all of those times she's invited him to the bar or when she's visited his home on Nogard don't count—that has every nerve of hers on end.
Not in a bad way, but she is willing this to be as perfect as it can be and prays that nothing will go wrong. She hasn't forgotten what Ocard was like last year, and she hopes that the dragons are kind enough to leave the two of them alone to enjoy their picnic in the gardens in peace. That, and her excitement is buzzing, all of that pent up anticipation coming out of her in hastened footsteps and red cheeks by the time she finally does manage to find him.
She whirls around a tall hedge of rose bushes when she spots him, her dark, strawberry-printed dress flaring out around her as she clutches her small picnic basket close. Her heart leaps into her throat like this is the very first time that she's seeing him.]
Sorry...
[She wanders over with a sheepish smile, her face flushed with embarrassment, her eyes flitting to him and noting just how handsome he looks...]
This place is so big, I think I got a little lost.

Sorry...
[She wanders over with a sheepish smile, her face flushed with embarrassment, her eyes flitting to him and noting just how handsome he looks...]
This place is so big, I think I got a little lost.

Hm... I wonder.
[Just another smirk as he pulls his hand away to lick the juice off his thumb before taking the rest of the strawberry and eating the rest.]
no subject
I wonder, too.
[Her voice is soft and airy, and she has to take a deep breath to steady herself again as she picks up a blueberry.
...
....
And lifts it to his lips. Though if he looks at her, she'll quickly cast her gaze away.]
Guess it's my turn.
no subject
Should I wait for you?
[Teasing her as he lightly holds the blueberry between his teeth.]
no subject
[Tifa holds it there, her fingertips touching his lips, as it slowly dawns on her, and wow, she's getting flustered all over the place today once she realizes what he means... Or what she thinks he means.]
Like this?
[She pulls her hand back and leans in slowly, tipping her head just so to get the right angle, but rather than steal the blueberry, she pushes it past his lips with her own as she closes the distance between them.]
no subject
Though whether it's to spread that blueberry or just to take her taste again instead, who knows...]
no subject
She licks her lips, a hand pressing to her warm, red cheek in embarrassment.]
... We should probably finish our food.
[Not that she sees a problem with it. If anything, she nuzzles her nose gently against his, tentative and testing.]
no subject
Can save the rest for later.
[Whatever that might mean. And in an attempt to not fall into temptation, he'll just linger for a moment longer before slowly pulling back so he reach out for the soup again.]
no subject
And as much as she wants to ask what he means by that, she's not sure that her heart could take it, even if she tried, so she just makes a small noise of approval in return.
A silence stretches on after that, though not to Eustace's fault. Mostly Tifa's, because she doesn't quite know what to say after all of that. It's after a soft clearing of her throat that she finally does break it.]
... So, um... What have you been up to?
[ufhghghsdfh]
no subject
Not that he really knows what he's doing either, just going on instinct and general knowledge and awareness.
So he'll just enjoy the soup, glancing over when she speaks up.]
Not much... Just the usual odd jobs.
no subject
But she'll start unpacking the sandwiches now, happy to find something to keep her hands busy while her heart and mind are still reeling.]
Anything interesting?
[This is the sort of thing people talk about on first dates, right?]
no subject
Not really... Most of them were hunts and could be done locally...but there was one where I had to travel to a remote island in warmer waters for the target. Was for a certain type of wild boar.
no subject
[She sets a couple of sandwiches on a plate and slides them over to him. Some roast beef and fresh ham.]
Didn't we say you should take me with you on one of those hunts someday?
no subject
You're right, I did.
[A small, rueful smile.]
I could see what it looks like next time...see if any might interest you.
no subject
Honestly? I think anything would be fine. Something big or small? I'm there.
...
Just as long as it's with you. But it really has been a while since we've fought anything together that wasn't a group of baby sharks.
no subject
I'll let you know then.
But what about your bar? How has that been going?
no subject
Busy, as always. With spring on the way, I've been trying to come up with all these new recipes, and maybe think about which ones to bring back...
no subject
no subject
[Things from home, maybe...? Just like she had said before.]
no subject
Meant more for getting any supplies...but I could try and think of things, too.
no subject
[She huffs with a soft laugh, tucking a hair behind her ear.]
I mean, of course I wouldn't say no to supplies or ingredients, if you find them! What you have brought has been helpful so far.
no subject
[And now that he's done with the soup, he moves onto the sandwich, already pleased by the first bite.]
This is also really good, Tifa.
no subject
Really!? I thought you might like the roast beef. That one's probably a top seller at the bar still.
[With lettuce, tomato, sliced cucumbers, and cheese, with her homemade sauce!]
It's actually shaved off some meat that you brought back.
no subject
[A slight look of surprise before he takes another bite.]
If it's beef...then must be from the bison I hunted the other week.
no subject
[She takes a bite of her own, pausing to savour the vibrant taste of the meat.]
Got a little more flavour than regular beef. Less fatty, too. So it becomes pretty popular for people who are looking for something a little lighter.
no subject
I'll keep it in mind. They're a common enough request at the butcher I hunt for, so I can always bring some more if you want it.
