[Since Joshua's brother Clive's sudden departure into the rifts, a certain gaggle of brightly colours birds have been left behind to manage. While the crew has divided the work up thus far, Joshua feels as though the task of taking care of the island's local chocobos should be mostly his responsibility.
Now he finds himself in the middle of the makeshift pen holding out two very large, very juicy radishes out like they're vegetable-shaped swords.]
Now... Please. Let's try this again, shall we? Please be gentle when taking your treats.
[The chocobos are starting to coo and whistle sweetly at him. But they're also starting to crowd in closer and closer... And it looks as though Joshua is going to be mauled under a mountain of feathery friends if he doesn't get a hand with feeding them soon.]
[ 📌 b. manta board: out of the blue]
[Joshua may be aboard The Enterprise, The Stormbringer or any one of the neutral ships for this quest while going out to sea in search of the ever elusive and rare gemstone sharks. The early springtime air is still chilly on the wind but it's a beautiful sunny day for trying to find some exotic or dangerous fish.
Although, Joshua isn't sure how dangerous they will actually be or not. When he sees one swimming serenely through the icy water, he can't help but to watch it with some awe. And these creatures are certainly worthy of awe.]
It seems almost a shame to capture them...
[📌 c. bounty: bear necessities]
[On Eltrut, Joshua is on a mission to help track down and apprehend the thief that has been stealing ... women's panties. It's an outrageous crime and one that should be stopped immediately!
... Please ignore the way his face is blushing mad?]
We must find this man and force him to face the reality of his crimes. Immediately...!
[Perhaps Joshua has a personal stake in this bounty? Maybe someone took- his undergarments. Not that he would ever admit such a thing since he is not, in fact, a woman!? He is a gentleman!]
[📌 d. wildcard;]
[got something else? feel free to put it down here. or you can find me atmichrure for more planning]

They didn't look like your typical nets for catching masses of fish. Ropes were tied together with a hook at each end. Attached to the hooks are specially design netting, meant to open and then close around a single shark, creating a a pouch of sorts. Keeping them separate is probably to prevent causing harm/damage to themselves? No one wants a damaged jewel, he suppose. He can imagine Rouge saying something like that. These sharks are going to be tedious to catch is what he gathers. Whatever. It needs to get done. He starts to roll up the rope to make it easier to carry.]
no subject
He catches a glimpse of the other setting the netting in place and he turns to offer his hand.]
My apologies, I must have gotten lost in my thoughts. May I help you with the task at hand?
no subject
Long as you don't start second guessing yourself. [Cause he doesn't need someone to suddenly have a change of heart in the middle of catching sharks. The little hedgehog manages to lug the netting towards the side of the ship, now it's just untangling the mess so it can be tossed.]
no subject
Only idle thoughts, I promise. These creatures aren't like anything I've ever seen before.
[They seem so majestic and beautiful. It's only natural to think it would be a shame to capture one and put it in captivity...?]
no subject
I doubt we'll be catching every one of them with these.
no subject
[Which would be a fair catch to split amongst the two of them. As much as Joshua thinks these creatures are beautiful, he still wants the money. He's a corsair at heart, after all.
He tugs another knot loose.]
Or more if we're careful today.

[He can't fault anyone for being ambitious. Four in a net is going to be very difficult to manage but he can't complain.
... If the net pulling is too hard on him, he might complain. A small amount of complaining.]
Right then. [He grabs his side of the net and they begin to set the netting.] Together, a nice wide throw.
no subject
The net covers a wide area upon hitting the water. The rest should be straight forward, the sharks enter the pods and they close up. Only they're not closing up as they should, the sharks swimming harmlessly through them. It appears they don't actually close on their own.]
...Someone has to go down there. [He walks along the rail, volunteering himself if Joshua doesn't interject.]
no subject
[The throw had been conducted to the best of their ability! That is why Joshua frowns when it doesn't seem to be enough.]
I would offer but I'm afraid I don't mix well with water when I fly.
[If Shadow has a way to go down there, by all means!]

[Joshua will do his best to hold the netting in place, securing it with some of the given pegs against the railing as well.
Meanwhile, the sharks are swimming about as serenely as they were before. Most of them don't seem concerned with the traps that are laid out for them. It's as if they don't have a single predator to worry about.]
Be careful, the sharks could turn without warning.
no subject
He suspects things are going to get hectic once he starts going for the catch. So he scans the area, put to memory where everything is and then jumps off. He jets towards the pod and dives into the water like a missile, pulling the mesh to properly trap the shark. Being caught by surprised, it didn't have a chance to retaliate. There will be a slight tug on the line once caught.
As he guessed, the other sharks start to swim around erratically. Time is limited. Shadow resurfaces above the water, looking for the next possible catch. All while avoiding a few sharks trying to snap their jaws at him. Hm. Wonder if he could taunt them into the traps if it comes to it?]
no subject
There, tug now! Quickly!
[The sharks are quickly catching on. As they start to trash about, Joshua pulls on his side of the netting, locking them in quickly before they can wiggle away. Sharks are dangerous when they're not under threat, so even more so that they are now. They start trashing and snapping. Shadow will have to be careful that he doesn't get bit by a jumping shark... Or it's getting punched in the nose.
Joshua will encourage just a bit more...!]
A few more!
no subject
As he resurfaces, a shark goes flying upwards out of the water as he punches it out of the way. Let's hope it doesn't crash land onto Joshua.]
no subject
[Joshua shouts cautiously! The sharks are becoming more aggressive and unruly...! But it seems the hedgehog does keep it under control.
... At least enough to punch that one out of the way. The shark recoils and kicks up in the water so hard that it jumps upwards like a flying fish. It happens so suddenly that it nearly beans Joshua right in the head with its thick, whipping tail.]
Agh!?
[He shouts but is knocked clear over the railing of the ship and starts falling down below...!]
no subject
He ignores it, focused on making sure he gets to Joshua before the sharks do. He jets beneath him, arms extended to catch him. The main rope they were supposed to be watching starts to slip off the side.]
no subject
My thanks- the rope!
[If that rope loosens and they lose it into the water, the sharks will escape ...! Joshua has no choice. He suddenly pushes the hedgehog so he lets go.
Only for Joshua's skin to ignite in a flurry of red glowing patterns that looks like fire and burns opening on his skin. And without warning, two large feathery wings burst out of Joshua's back. It looks like they're made entirely out of magic flames.
He kicks up, shooting quickly for the rope. He tries to grab it before it's too late.]
no subject
...
Why didn't they do that in the first place?] Tch. [Mildly irritated, he'll help with grabbing onto the rope in case it slips away from Joshua. Feeling a heavy tug from the the sharks trying to flee below.] Do you have it?!
no subject
But right now, they can't argue that comfort. Joshua grabs the rope and flies upwards to pull it tightly, which cinches up the sharks they've caught.]
I've got it!
no subject
There will be a sharp tug on the rope as Shadow gets the third shark into the pod. His right arm feels numb, but there's just one more they need-] -!! [The side of the boat shakes slightly as Shadow slams into it's side. A shark had lunged at him, his shoe in it's maw to keep it from trying to get a chomp on him.]
no subject
He can't leave the hedgehog with his foot caught. This will take some precise casting...]
Shield your eyes!
[And Joshua casts a fire spell at the shark to stun it sharply.]
no subject
As they go skipping across the water top, gems flying around, Shadow gives no thanks, focus on getting back to the task at hand. It shouldn't have happened to begin with. There will be another strong tug on the line as Shadow manages to get the last shark into a pod. Just as he declared at the start of this venture, they filled the net. The line is probably going to feel tight to Joshua, having to wrestle with four sharks now.
He won't have to hold it alone for long though, once Shadow returns to the boat. Grabbing a hold of the rope, he'll help Joshua reel in their catch.]
no subject
And another hearty yank as the two of them work together to pull up their lot ... The netting is pulled up and the sharks are successfully caught. They flop uselessly. But their gemstone skin is as glittery as it was before.]
There... It's done. We will need to transport them quickly.
[Joshua's hold on the rope loosens. And there is a very short moment where Joshua's face contorts with pain as he lets his magic seep back out of his skin.]
no subject
I'll handle it. [He starts to move toward the nearest shark, removing the pod from the net. There should be a rope somewhere to hook all the pods together and drag them to the holding space.]
