I heard them rustling.
[He then glances at her.]
If you want to leave them something you can... Just be prepared for the consequences.

[Tifa leans over and grabs a carrot from the container of vegetables that he prepared but doesn't hand it to the rabbit just yet. It does, however, hop slowly onto the blanket, staring up at her, curious.]
And I don't think I've got much of a choice now?
no subject
[Said in an ominous voice. But he still smiles anyway, amused.]
And no, you don't.
no subject
And then it starts to nibble.]
Oh my god, it worked...!
[Only she won't notice that a second bunny has come up on the other side of Eustace.]
no subject
Either way, he glances at the rabbit, and not wanting to scare it he'll just pick up a small red tomato that was closest to him and roll it over to it.]
no subject
[She's lowered her voice to a whisper, watching in awe as the rabbit snatches the rest of the carrot piece and munches.]

no subject
What makes you think so?
[As she nudges the rabbit closer to him with a piece of lettuce torn from her sandwich.]
no subject
[A slight twitch of his ear as the rabbit has finally approached the tomato he had rolled over to it and starts nibbling.]
Small animals like rabbits have always been wary around me... Just how I seem to them.
[He'll watch the rabbit for a moment, and the moment he slowly raises its hand the rabbit does flinch a little backwards. He glances at Tifa to be like, "See?"]
no subject
[She smiles at him fondly in response, undeterred by that look that he gives her.]
Maybe they can sense that caution.
no subject
[But he's breaking off a piece of carrot to try and hold out to the rabbit...
...
It does not approach. But it will continue to eat the tomato.]
no subject
I'm sure not all rabbits are scared of you... You just gotta find the right moment. And the right food definitely helps, too.
[She reaches into the container and takes out another carrot, setting this one down on the blanket, and another wanders close to take it before running off, a little more skittish than the rest.]
no subject
It's all right. They're better suited around you, anyway.
[The one closest to him still nibbling on the tomato just eyes the carrot, but that fourth rabbit he had heard will dart in to grab it before stopping a short distance. There is some chittering squeaks and Eustace grins amused as he sets out more pieces.]
no subject
And what's that supposed to mean?
no subject
[A playful grin.]
You're already like a rabbit, anyway.
no subject
[She shoots him a playful look back, her eyes gleaming with amusement, before she glances down at the rabbit, nodding to it and the way that it nibbles at its food.]
I just hope it's not because of the way I eat.
no subject
[A teasing grin, a fifth rabbit now appearing...]
But you're small, energetic, and even twitch your nose like one.
no subject
[Her hand immediately goes up to press against the tip of her nose, and it crinkles a little before she's shoving him back.]
I do not! My nose doesn't twitch.
no subject
You just never noticed.
[Is he joking or is he serious... She may never know—]
Especially when you're thinking deeply or start getting frustrated...
no subject
[She rubs at her nose, but there's a hint of a grin underneath that pout of hers.]
Not like you're much better with your ears, Mister Wolf!
no subject
[A wolfish grin as he twitches his ears.]
The difference is I accept it and not in denial about it.
no subject
Well, why don't I ask? Excuse me, Madam?
[Is it a girl bunny? She doesn't know, but she's rolling with it anyway. The bunny that's nearest her devouring the lettuce peers up at her, pausing like it's listening.]
Do you think I look like a rabbit?
[It just stares at her—as she expected—and then continues to munch munch munch. Tifa turns to Eustace, victorious.]
See?
no subject
That wasn't an answer, it just wasn't interested. Besides, aren't they gathering around you more?
[As he speaks, more rabbits emerge... Maybe more than he expects. Two? No four... Another popping in between them??]
no subject
[She feels one bump against her leg, nudging her as if to ask for more food.]
Uh oh... I don't know if we have enough food for all of you...
no subject
I told you there would be consequences.
[He breaks off a few pieces of carrots and lettuce to try and stave off a few from crowding Tifa too much.]
And that they would prefer you.
