[A wry grin.]
But I suppose it would be a bit more enjoyable. So long as it doesn't turn into a chaotic disaster like... What were they? Some kind of candy?
no subject
Oh—! The Turkish delights? You still remember that!?
no subject
[He just looks at her a little incredulous before he snorts.]
Hard to forget it, really...
no subject
[She laughs, almost messing up her paint.]
I didn't think that day traumatized you as much as it seems to have.
no subject
[He hasn't forgotten "Round Cassius" either... Though at least the man isn't haunting his dreams since it's been some time since he's seen his face.]
But there are your examples.
no subject
Well. Let's hope that this doesn't turn into a mess... though...
[She gestures to her cheek, and then to him.]
Don't think we're off to a great start there either. But... I think it's starting to look pretty good, don't you?
no subject
Actually... I do.
[There's a quiet chuckle with his answer, but he's nearing the end of his sky, not quite touching her mountains just yet as he's leaving her space in case she wants to add more to them.]
Makes for a nice landscape, anyway.
[Little cheeky.]
no subject
Think we should add anything else to it?
no subject
[A low hum as he switches his paints to wait to start adding the clouds.]
I can't think of anything. You?
no subject
[She motions to the sky in the center, right beside the mountains.]
But I think you could try adding your airship here?
no subject
That could work. I couldn't really decide where to put it so I think that would make sense. Have it look like it's flying towards your side...
no subject
[For a few different reasons, as a thought occurs to her while she seeks out the green paint.]
You know, I don't think you've ever told me what your airship looks like
no subject
[.....Did he even tell her that—
He pauses for a moment at that thought and glances at her.]
...Guess I never really thought to talk about it... It's not really "my" airship to begin with.
no subject
[Let's say that he did—
But she watches him with interest, only half paying attention to where she's dabbing the green over her mountains.]
You said that it was your friend's, right?
no subject
Gran. Lyria is also close to him.
[As he dots the wall with some white for the clouds, he thinks of how to answer...]
He's traveling to follow his father's footsteps to reach a certain place. At one point he happened to meet some of my colleagues and then helped us with one of our missions. Since then we've assisted him when we can, and he's helped us a lot as well.
It's probably on the Grandcypher that I really felt something more like "home"...
no subject
[When she'd asked him about his world. It had been a brief exchange then, but now she might be able to "see" it for herself.]
Was it as big as I imagine it being?
no subject
Depends how big you're imagining it. But I'd say it was roughly the size as one of the largest galleons here.
no subject
[She smiles at him and goes back to painting.]
Sounds like it's even bigger than the biggest airship we've got back home. Not that I've ever been on it, though.
no subject
[He wonders if he'll be able to paint it well enough... Well, he'll give it a try. To think it's been two years since he's last seen it...]
What are your airships like?
no subject
But she does have to think about that a moment.]
We don't have a lot... and the ones that we do have are owned by Shinra. [Of course.] But I did get to see their biggest ship up close... The Highwind.
no subject
What was it used for? Military?
no subject
Mostly, yeah. Built for the dear President of Shinra himself. Too bad, really. Something like that could really be more useful carrying people around the world rather than the military.
no subject
I suppose it's harder for me to imagine since airships are like the ships here—our only means of transportation. While there are military fleets, including questionably large ships constructed for selfish reasons, there are still plenty more to accommodate everyone else.
But knowing how vital airships can be for that reason, it does seem a waste as you said.
no subject
[She shakes her head.]
You'd be lucky to even ride in one. Most people just travel by chocobo, or by ship. I'd love to be able to ride on the Highwind someday, but that's just a dream.
no subject
[A small, quiet smile before his gaze drifts up to the skies.]
There really is nothing like it...
