[With everyone already busying themselves with decorating for the upcoming Ghoul's Moon, Tifa thought it would be a fun little thing to do for the bar, since she's never really had the chance to decorate the place for any celebrations so far besides some balloons for birthdays. She's managed to procure some of the (hopefully) fake skulls, as well as some decent paints that they were giving away with them, and the most important thing: someone to do this with.

And honestly, she could not be happier that Eustace had agreed to it when she text him about it. After what happened last month with the fog, staying back for a while on the ship seemed the best course of action for her. What better way to do that than to get into the festive spirit? And over a pair of drinks, too. There are two glasses of whiskey set out on the table next to them as they sit at an empty bar, the place closed for the evening so that they can all have a bit of a break.

She holds one of her skulls in one hand, and a brush in the other that taps at her lips.]

... I was thinking something bright for this one. Make it stand out even at night.

[He can at least confirm they are definitely fake...although he may be mean and pretend one to be "questionable." And while he agreed to this, he can't help but feel a little strange painting these, staring at the one he had eventually chosen. With Valo resting beneath their feet, he looks over at her.]

So something with orange or yellow? Could stick a candle in it, too...

[It is a little bit strange, but it's all in good fun and part of the festivities. Everyone is doing it, apparently!]

Oh, yeah. I did see some people doing that. And I could keep them lit.

[She tilts her head, turning it over in her hands.]

But would that be too much warm colours? Maybe something else to help offset?

Like what...bright blues? Purples?

Yeah, something like that.

[She picks up a little bottle of blue paint and waves it between her fingers.]

Something neon, like this one? ... What about you?

[Neon... Definitely will be bright.]

Not sure yet... Might just grab something and see how it goes.

[She smiles across at him, and starts to squeeze the paint out onto the paper that she's laid across the table and wow, that is blue.]

... Thanks for coming today, by the way. I know this is all kind of silly, but... I really wanted to decorate the ship for the holiday this time. Never got around to it last year. Didn't even have a ship or a bar to decorate yet.

[Hmm... He'll start with green and after setting out some paint, paint some simple dots around it before glancing up.]

Never really did much with this myself... Not that I really did much for Halloween in my world, either.

What was "Halloween" like in your world anyway? Kind of like this, right?

[She picks up her brush and dabs the very thin tip of it into the paint carefully.]

[A low hum.]

It would vary a little depending on the island, but mostly. People in costumes...spooky themes...and there was trick-or-treating.

Oh, sort of like what they do here? I know there was some tricks and treats, but... I still don't really get what that was about.

[She starts to paint her skull, dotting the brow with the neon blue as she watches him.]

[He's made a nice ring of green dots along the base of the skull so now he's going to use some...orange. Yeah sure.]

In my world, kids would go up to you and say "Trick-or-Treat," and if you didn't have any treats to give them they would play tricks on you.

[She pauses her painting to tap her chin with the brush thoughtfully.]

... I wonder if we could do something like that here on the ship. Offer up the kids around here a place to collect some treats.

Wouldn't be a bad idea.

[She lets a smile bloom across her lips and leans over the table a little.]

You should come dressed up, too. Get a little treat.

[Teasing. Mostly.]

[Annnnd that's something of an uncertain frown. He has worn a costume before and got used to it over the years, but...

Depends.

[Ah, there's that frown that she's familiar with.]

What would you dress up as, if you had to? ... Is a wolf a little too close?

....Strangely enough, I never really tried. But I've worn a vampire one before.

Really!?

[That is surprising, and she almost messes up a line when she looks up at him again from her work.]

I would've thought that'd be the first costume you'd pick. It would suit you.

[Though, the image of him dressed as a vampire...

Her mind wanders a little too far a little too fast, and she has to shake herself back to reality.]

...I wasn't really one for costumes and the vampire one was for a mission that I just kept.

[It's not as if he didn't think about it, but... He kind of enjoyed watching others dressed as wolves and dogs than himself.]

Besides, I already have wolf ancestry in me... Not really much of a costume for me.

[Plus, you know, his ears that he'll twitch.]

[Her cheeks do flush a little when he twitches his ears for her, and it takes so much of her willpower not to reach across the table and poke them.]

I guess. That, or it's less work to make a costume for you.

[She continues with her painting.]

If you had to pick something this year, what would it be?

[He eyes her for a moment before he gives a low hum and resumes painting, just adding some patterns here and there with yellows and greens.]

...Don't know, really. Never really thought much about it.

Well, that's why I'm asking, silly.

[She waves her brush at him, accidentally getting some of the paint to splatter on the table.]

[His eyes go to the paint splatter before looking up at her dryly before he cleans off his brush to get some...

...Should he try neon...he's not even sure what he's doing with this skull. It has something of a pattern to it, but what if he painted the insides of the eyes? Maybe an orangeish red...yeah let's work with that.]

Really have no idea. Can't really imagine myself in anything else.
