Who: Cidolfus Telamon & Benedikta Harman. Status: Closed. Where: Around places. What: Cid and Benedikta follow a lead and sneak into a fancy holiday party. Event stuff TBA. Warnings: it's them, what do you want from me
[Her short arms try to shove his finger away from her but not even they can reach, and... is her head growing a little bigger as her cheeks become redder? ... It had better not.]
Especially when she tries to bop him and he can't help but laugh and bring her closer...but still too far to reach. He's terrible.]
Then unless you'd like to ride on my shoulder or elsewhere, there's not much else we can do. I cannot see anything here that could have cast a magic of any kind.
[The shiver that she'd been trying to hold back finally lets loose through her whole body, and she can only grumble her little agreement as she is slowly tucked into the front of his jacket. Little does she know, her voice has taken on a higher pitch compared to what she hears in her head (which sounds perfectly normal).
Once she's in, she gives a little wriggle to make herself comfortable, and stares up at him, the feathers brushing the tip of his chin. Or tries to... this angle is very difficult, and a good view right up his noseβ]
This magic was only on that island the last time, was it not?
Aye, and I haven't heard of it happening elsewhere. However I haven't been keeping up with any news since we were mostly at the Roost before venturing out here.
[He feels that little tickle on his chin regardless, and he glances down at her amused before he straightens up, using his poles to help.]
At worst we can see if there's someone who can remove the spell off you.
[He won't answer, instead pushing off to start going down the slope at a fast clip. He will reach over to place his hand over her as if to help protect and keep in bed place, especially since he doesn't want her to fall out. And this time he won't use his magic, going down the slope normally until they reach the bottom.]
[For a tiny little toy bird, it feels much faster than it actually is. Even with his hand on her head to keep her from falling, she still screams and shrieks at him when he skis down the slope, the cold wind hitting her face and bustling her feathers all out of sorts.
...
...
So when they reach the bottom, he will not get an answer from her. Not verbally, anyway. Just a hard, angry stare up at him, with her feathers all thrown askew, perhaps even some missing thanks to the wind. The betrayal... The utter betrayal......]
[Another high-pitched shriek, and her head suddenly starts to grow bigger. Noticeably so this time for him, less so for her. She's going to try and adjust her feathers, but she's unable to reach.]
And now she's going continue to try and wiggle herself free from his coat, because as cozy as he is, this is getting uncomfortable, and his laughter only makes the heat in her face (and her head) grow.]
You are making it worse! I will pluck out your teeth if you do not—
[Uh oh, now she's starting to float, and the top of her head bumps his chin.]
When he reaches his hands around her, she grabs onto them, clinging fast to whatever she can reach. Her feet start to float up instead to make up for it, so he'd better catch and hold onto those, too!]
You started it... You know exactly what you are doing.
[She sputters at the kisses, and she'd be surprised if he didn't feel her head growing warmer with each little peck he plants upon her. She tries to fight him off, but her efforts are futile, all by the fault of her short arms betraying her. Bigger and bigger it becomes, and he'll have to really hold onto her to stop her from floating away.]
I swear to Greagor that you are going to pop me if you do not stop! [She spits a feather out of her mouth.] Are we going to try to find answers or not!?
[She glances at him, and for a secondβa split secondβit might appear like she actually considers it. Because she does. She just cannot have him know that, so she snaps out of the thought quick enough, feathers puffing out again.]
What, like some sort of children's balloon!? No, I will just hold onto you.
[Wrapping her tiny little claws around his thumb.]
[He provokes a little shiver, her wings shuddering when his fingers run along her back and tickle her. Not that it feels terribleβquite the opposite reallyβbut it's about appearances! And she is certainly lacking much of hers right now!!!
But she'll hold on tight to his hand as he carries her back to the lodge, bobbing around awkwardly with every step he takes. Once in a while, her grip slips and her feet kick up into the air or she falls backwards into his palm when her head starts to weigh a little too much, and she grumbles each time.
The inside of the lodge, while big, is quite crowded with people, most of them skiers that are trying to warm up after an afternoon on the slopes, some drinking some cocoa, others warming up around a fire and chatting. Benedikta glances around, searching for any toys in sight...
...]
Cidolfus, look.
[There are a few scattered about, all moving around like they might have been cursed like her.]
[Whenever he feels her moving, he has to try not to laugh or look at her for too long because she's both cute and hilarious. And he knows he shouldn't, but let's face it, she'd do the same to him if he were in her place. Still, there's no hiding that smile so he doesn't even bother to try.
Until they reach the lodge that is.
After removing his skis, he looks around before she catches his attention. Seeing the toys, he frowns a bit... It doesn't seem anyone is too alarmed, except for the toys that seem to be a bit more frantic and even conversing with others. With a low hum, he tucks her a little closer.]
I'll get in closer, see what we can hear before pressing for more.
[Cute and humorous as this is, he's also more protective of her since she is in a more vulnerable condition.]
no subject
[He frowns at that, once more looking around before noting her shivering. Oh she really is too cute—
He pulls her in closer, and he'll start gently brushing and rubbing a finger over her little feathers around her large head.]
Let's go back down for now, perhaps someone else might know.
no subject
I would rather you did not parade me around.
no subject
Now I would never do that.
[He brings her up to his face and grins.]
I'll just ask around and you can stay hidden in my coat like you did before.
no subject
That is easy for you to say... I cannot very well stay stuffed inside there the whole time.
[An arm stretches out to bop him on the nose, but she is too far.]
no subject
Especially when she tries to bop him and he can't help but laugh and bring her closer...but still too far to reach. He's terrible.]
Then unless you'd like to ride on my shoulder or elsewhere, there's not much else we can do. I cannot see anything here that could have cast a magic of any kind.
[And already tucking her into his jacket.]

no subject
[Sarcasm bleeds into her voice, but she's nestled further into his coat. Honestly, she might actually be slipping...]
More importantly, why did you not get changed, too!?
no subject
[A smirk as he preps his skis.]
How hold on, this might get a little fast.
no subject
[She tries to climb up in his coat to get a better view, wiggling and kicking to little avail.]
Cidolfus, what are you doing—
no subject
I think we're near where we started...
[He can see the lift not too far away at least.]
no subject
...
...
So when they reach the bottom, he will not get an answer from her. Not verbally, anyway. Just a hard, angry stare up at him, with her feathers all thrown askew, perhaps even some missing thanks to the wind. The betrayal... The utter betrayal......]

Snort.
He has to quickly look away, but there's no hiding his laughter.]
no subject
[Another high-pitched shriek, and her head suddenly starts to grow bigger. Noticeably so this time for him, less so for her. She's going to try and adjust her feathers, but she's unable to reach.]
Quit laughing! This is not a fun moment.
no subject
He is trying so very hard, but he really can't help it. He laughs again. Harder.]
I—I'm sorry, love, but—you—
[NOPE can't he's so sorry.]
no subject
And now she's going continue to try and wiggle herself free from his coat, because as cozy as he is, this is getting uncomfortable, and his laughter only makes the heat in her face (and her head) grow.]
You are making it worse! I will pluck out your teeth if you do not—
[Uh oh, now she's starting to float, and the top of her head bumps his chin.]
no subject
But he'll try and move her as well, carefully taking her into his hands so she doesn't float away pfffftt]
Careful or you might just float away.
no subject
When he reaches his hands around her, she grabs onto them, clinging fast to whatever she can reach. Her feet start to float up instead to make up for it, so he'd better catch and hold onto those, too!]
You started it... You know exactly what you are doing.
no subject
Do I? You mean if I do something like this...
[And he'll bring her in closer to shower her with little soft kisses on her giant little head.]
no subject
I swear to Greagor that you are going to pop me if you do not stop! [She spits a feather out of her mouth.] Are we going to try to find answers or not!?
no subject
Can't have that, can we? But aye, let's head back down.
[A smirk as he trudges through the snow back to lodge where their belongings are.]
Should I tie a string to your foot to make sure you don't float away?
no subject
What, like some sort of children's balloon!? No, I will just hold onto you.
[Wrapping her tiny little claws around his thumb.]
no subject
All right, just keep that hold tight.
no subject
