[She did it first! And WOW WOW he'll feel that familiar prickle and his head will look up and then at her as she passes.]

[And although he tries to pick up speed, it's too late and he can only come to a stop after her.

But not before skidding a wave of snow at her, just like she did to him before.]

[Sorry, love. Cannot beat the wind!

And when he catches up to her at the bottom, she greets him with an all-too-delighted squeal as she shields herself from the wall of snow he throws at her. It's misty and cold, but that is not why her cheeks are red as she laughs at him, skidding and waddling over.]

I win.

[ramuhs]

You cheated.

[garudas]

[She clicks her tongue, but continues to grin wide and proud at him.]

Is it truly cheating if I use all of my skills to my advantage?

[ramuhs]

Use all our skills, eh? Should I use my lightning next then?

[garudas]

No, don't bother.

[She stops right in front of him and wraps an arm around his shoulders, the other taking both her poles in hand.]

The competition is over. I won. And now I shall claim my prize.

[ramuhs]

[He laughs at that as he looks down at her.]

At what prize is that?

[garudas]

[Several beats pass...]

I think I will make you carry me up the hill.

[Teasing. Maybe?]

[ramuhs]

You'd have to catch me first.

[Also teasing. Maybe.]

[garudas]

How fast do you think you can run from me in those skis, hm?

[She's seen how he waddles! It's not much faster than her!!!]

And fleeing down the next hill is much steeper.

[ramuhs]

I'm sure I could make it down all right.

[He then laughs as he leans closer to her.]

Now what do you really want?

[garudas]

[She hums, thoughtful, tapping her poles into the snow.]

Another date, and cup of your peach cider once we are finished here.

... And a kiss.

[ramuhs]

[His eyes widen a bit before he smiles broadly.]

All that can be done easily. Starting with this.

[And in the next breath he pulls her to him so that his lips can press warmly and firmly against hers for that well earned kiss.]

[garudas]

[Well-earned indeed, and she meets him for that kiss with equal enthusiasm, accepting that warmth that seems to buzz beneath her skin.]

Shall we go again? [The words are murmured softly against his lips.] Or did you need a break?

[ramuhs]

We can do a few more runs... See if I can't even the score first.

[A light smirk.]

[garudas]

[She clucks her tongue at him and tries to waddle away from him.]

But I said the contest was over. You cannot simply call it again.

[ramuhs]

[He'll reach out to pull her back to him with a laugh.]

What? Afraid?

[garudas]

That you will beat me this time? Not at all.

[Now she's waddling back to him, her arms going back around him.]

But it is not so simple. The loser cannot just call for a rematch because he cannot stand that he lost.

[ramuhs]

Don't you always call for rematches when you've lost?

[Now he holds onto her tight.]

[garudas]

What?

[She sputters, feigning offense, and pretends to struggle against him.]

When was the last time I did that?

[ramuhs]

There was that time not too long ago back home when we were having that little "race," and then the sparring match the other day, and then—

[garudas]

[If he was doing this to get her to kiss him, then he certainly succeeded, because before he can finish, she's crashing her lips to his without a care in the world for where they are or that they are surrounded by people.]

Alright, you have made your point. You may have one rematch.

[ramuhs]

[He smirks and laughs into that kiss because yes that is exactly what he wanted, his eyes shining when she pulls away.]

Back up we go? Or should we try the next hill?

[garudas]

[She motions to the next hill with a grin.]

It does look a touch steeper. Might as well up the challenge a bit, hm?

[ramuhs]

Hah, all right.

[And as they trudge over, it really isn't too much steeper, just long and with a few bumps and flat areas to give a little more challenge where one could try to do small serves to avoid or take them all straight on.]

If I win this match, does that make it all a draw and we need to do another?

[With that challenging grin of his, one might suspect he just wanted more races down the slopes—]
