Now with the celebratory break over, he grins next to her.]
I'd say so. And I believe the best way is if we both hold the pipe and take turns blowing into it.
no subject
Hmm, I agree. Would you like to do the honours of going first?
[He seems to be better at this anyway!]
no subject
Mm, you don't want to?
[A playful smile.]
But I could, sure. Get it started for you.
no subject
[She leans in close to speak softly near his ear.]
I always enjoy watching you work.
[And she isn't just saying that to get out of doing it... if the way she runs her free hand along the back of his.
There is just something about watching her dear husband do things he is good at.]
no subject
Well— [Slight clearing of his throat as he feels both amused and a little embarrassed he feels this way.] Better play close attention then.
[And trying to play it off, he gives her a sweet peck on the cheek before straightening to set up the glass and pipe.]
no subject
After he offers her that peck on the cheek, her gaze follows him, eyes filled with a warm fondness over a scalding heat.
Just when she thought she could not love him any more than she did just a few seconds ago...]
Oh, I am paying very close attention.
[She steps up beside him, a hand grazing his back again before she lets him work, watching as he sets it all up.]
You are adorable, do you know that?
no subject
Adorable? Nonsense.
no subject
How is that nonsense?
[Now she is just teasing him, but with all the fondness she has to spare.]
Did I make your heart go all aflutter?
no subject
[And he'll prove it by shoving that pipe into the kiln to get the molten glass!!!
He's a tough manly man!! With a soft side. BUT NOT ADORABLE!!!!]
no subject
No? You do not need to act so tough around me, my love.
[Is this a dangerous game she is playing? Nah, he'll be fine.]
no subject
Who says I'm acting? This is how I always am.
[Just a dry glance back to her because HE CAN SEE WHAT SHE'S DOING!! Now it's his turn to have some feathers ruffled.]
no subject
Yes, my big tough bear of a husband, whose heart goes pitter patter at the sweet words of his wife.
[She leans down beside him, bringing herself down to his eye level, and after a moment of staring at him, she looks into the kiln to watch the glass melt.]
no subject
[He looks at her as if OFFENDED and just stares at her before he grumbles.]
Pitter patter my ass...
[Yes she got him—
With the glass all nice and melted he's gathering it up onto the end of the pipe and warns her to step back before pulling it out.]
no subject
What, you do not like it?
[As a placating hand goes to his back when he straightens with the pipe and the melted glass.
She does wonder what sort of essence might come out of this now.]
no subject
Only how you're calling me "adorable" and all that other nonsense.
[Huff huff. Walking over to the stand to set the pipe on it...
...]
I might have felt something nice.
no subject
[Because it's true!!!]
You are certainly not helping yourself by being huffy about it.
no subject
no subject
[It's her turn to huff defensively.]
I do not think it is. I am simply admiring and doting upon you, which I thought you enjoyed.
no subject
[A little quieter grumble before he looks a little awkward.]
And I do enjoy it. The admiring and doting that is.
no subject
So then what part of it is making you all grumpy, hm?
no subject
I am not being grumpy.
[He's giving her a very dry look.]
Is this for all the times I've called you cute and adorable?
no subject
It could be, but I doubt that would make you feel any better.
[And before he does anything with that glass, she leans in and kisses his cheek.]
So if you are not grumpy, what might you call this?
no subject
[Just some disgruntled silence, though the kiss does soften him up a bit.]
Someone who needs more than one kiss to feel better.
no subject
She taps his chin, guiding his lips to hers so that she can kiss him once, twice, thrice, each one quick but growing sweeter.]
Do you feel better now? I would not want this to ruin this glass attempt.
no subject
I suppose this will do for now. But perhaps a few more just in case.
[Okay now he really is fishing—]
