Who: Cidolfus Telamon & Benedikta Harman. Status: Closed. Where: Around places. What: Cid and Benedikta follow a lead and sneak into a fancy holiday party. Event stuff TBA. Warnings: it's them, what do you want from me
[She's just going to smudge that snow all over his front.]
I'd much rather a large extension of my arms than my feet.
[She is about to lean down and kiss his red nose when the sound of someone's shouts come closer and closer, and she doesn't register that they are telling them to move until it is too late, and they are suddenly sprayed with snow as the person tries to come to a stop and fails, wiping out near them instead. Benedikta buries her face in his snow-covered jacket, shielding herself from it.
When she lifts her head, she shoots said person a look, even if they can't see her. THEY WERE HAVING A CUTE MOMENT.]
[And he is once again covered in snow. Right when things were getting quite warm, too, even with her smudging that snow on his front. If anything he probably needed that dousing...
But he will frown a bit with a slight huff as he looks up at her.]
[She had gotten so comfortable on top of him that she'd almost forgotten. She does give him that little peck on the nose that she meant to, before she's just....
[He will smile at that peck though he might have hoped for more... But for now as he sits up and sees more skiers getting ready to try their luck, he shuffles to try and get himself up.
Except uh.
Hmmmmmm.]
Seem a bit stick.
[He wriggles around and tries to push himself up, but the snow is soft enough that his hands just go right into the snow. With his lower back deeper into the snow than he thought and his skis not helping, he's pretty much like a stuck turtle.]
[—because she is also sinking into the snow. She rolls over to look at him, staring, dumbfounded.]
You cannot be serious...
[Well, she is going to try and get up, but the motion only makes it more difficult for her, her arms slipping out from under her until she falls sideways.]
[She doesn't know why she panicked in those few seconds when he sank into the snow, but she reaches out to grab him, missing him entirely until she ends up falling into the pocket of snow after him, landing gently on his chest with her legs sticking up and outward in a strange and uncomfortable tangle of limbs.
But the rumbling sound of his laughter and the look on his face when she looks at him is infectious. Rather than be the helpful wife, she... ends up bursting into a fit of laughter, too?
So much for that grumpy, ruffled bird reputation of hers.]
If only you could have seen your own face as you fell.
[It's said to between snow and laughter, and he can hear some people outside coming over to them in some worry. They may need this extra help as they are very much stuck in a way that may be impossible for them to get out on their own.]
[It is very much impossible to get out, but she cannot stop grinning or giggling, her cheeks hurting both from the cold snow and her smile. Somehow, falling into the snow with him has lifted her mood. Who would have thought?]
I think we have been in worse messes before. Though this snow is proving to be as formidable an enemy as those behemoths we used to hunt...
[She waves off the people that have come over to check on them at first so that she can stubbornly try to get up on her own, only to fall further in, her skis hitting and getting tangled in each other again. Yes, they might actually need the help—]
[Nope. She doesn't even get to finish that before she's almost faceplanting into the snow, and already, people are moving in to offer their hands to pull them up, some taking Benedikta by her arms to help her when she stubbornly tries again.
They set her right and pull Cid up to his feet, and once they have thanked the people that have helped them up and have sent them off, she immediately leans against him and brushes the snow from his hair.]
[She makes a noise at that, back to pouting again as he brushes his fingers over her hair.]
You mean my stopping.
[A little sigh before she's taking one of his hands in her own so that they can shuffle back towards the hill together. They might as well keep practicing there—as much as she hates the idea of making a fool of herself again, she is not going to learn how to stop by simply sliding along the flatter ground, is she? And it's not like she can simply give up. She can be stubborn about things, and giving in too easily is something that she will be stubborn about today.
So up they go again, slowly but surely. At least they have gotten used to moving around in them, it really is just moving like penguins, waddling along. It feels a little silly to her, but it's the most effective way to do so. She'd rather that than end up in the snow again.
Famous last words, of course.
It takes a few more tries, going down and back up and down again, before she finally gets the hang of stopping and steering properly. Of course Cid is a natural, she had no doubt about that, but when she finally does start moving a little quicker, and knows to stop just a foot in front of him, spraying him with snow just because she figured out she could, she can't help but smile proudly at herself, and at him when she reaches the bottom after her last successful attempt.]
[As she goes, he's also practicing a bit more himself, though it does seem he has a better hang of it. Perhaps because he's used to zipping around and crouching along the ground. As such, once he's gotten a better idea, he tries to give her some tips and advice as he watches her, all of which she repays him with that shower of snow at the end.
Still, he just laughs and looks at her with a bit of pride after wiping off some of that snow (thank goodness for these ski googles he's wearing).]
Should we try together then? And then the larger slope?
[If it wasn't so much trouble he would have stepped up to her and kissed her nose for how cute she's being, but for now he just smiles with that gleam of mirth and fondness in his eyes.]
Just try not to crash.
[And he'll lead their waddling way back up the hill.]
no subject
[And his brows will furrow when he feels that snow, so she shouldn't be surprised when she'll get a sprinkling herself.]
Just need to work on the slowing and stopping.
no subject
[She makes a face and shakes the snow off her head, spraying at him with a hint of a grin.]
Stopping is much easier with wings.
no subject
Is it? I remember the first time you tried and you were tumbling all over.
[And he's going to just dump more snow on her head! In fact he might make a little ball of it as if building a snowman—]
no subject
Yes, but that was different. The wings were a part of me, these are not. Once I was used to them, it was fine, but these...
[She clacks her skis together, and that makes her nearly topple from him.]
no subject
Well you just need to think it similarly—the skis an extension of your feet.
A very...long extension.
no subject
I'd much rather a large extension of my arms than my feet.
[She is about to lean down and kiss his red nose when the sound of someone's shouts come closer and closer, and she doesn't register that they are telling them to move until it is too late, and they are suddenly sprayed with snow as the person tries to come to a stop and fails, wiping out near them instead. Benedikta buries her face in his snow-covered jacket, shielding herself from it.
When she lifts her head, she shoots said person a look, even if they can't see her. THEY WERE HAVING A CUTE MOMENT.]
That may be a sign that we should move.
no subject
But he will frown a bit with a slight huff as he looks up at her.]
You'll need to move first, love.
[Since he's.
Kind of pinned under her.]
no subject
Oh.
[She had gotten so comfortable on top of him that she'd almost forgotten. She does give him that little peck on the nose that she meant to, before she's just....
...
Rolling off him and onto her back in the snow.]
no subject
Except uh.
Hmmmmmm.]
Seem a bit stick.
[He wriggles around and tries to push himself up, but the snow is soft enough that his hands just go right into the snow. With his lower back deeper into the snow than he thought and his skis not helping, he's pretty much like a stuck turtle.]
no subject
What is stuck?
[—because she is also sinking into the snow. She rolls over to look at him, staring, dumbfounded.]
You cannot be serious...
[Well, she is going to try and get up, but the motion only makes it more difficult for her, her arms slipping out from under her until she falls sideways.]
no subject
Well.
Seeing her in a bit of a pickle, he'll try again to move, but—]
Gyah—!
[The snow beneath him must have had an air pocket as it collapses beneath him, making him sink further in...
...
And that results in him just laughing.]
no subject
[She doesn't know why she panicked in those few seconds when he sank into the snow, but she reaches out to grab him, missing him entirely until she ends up falling into the pocket of snow after him, landing gently on his chest with her legs sticking up and outward in a strange and uncomfortable tangle of limbs.

So much for that grumpy, ruffled bird reputation of hers.]
If only you could have seen your own face as you fell.
[As more of it collapses and cascades onto them.]
no subject
[It's said to between snow and laughter, and he can hear some people outside coming over to them in some worry. They may need this extra help as they are very much stuck in a way that may be impossible for them to get out on their own.]
Right mess we're in, hah!
no subject
I think we have been in worse messes before. Though this snow is proving to be as formidable an enemy as those behemoths we used to hunt...
[She waves off the people that have come over to check on them at first so that she can stubbornly try to get up on her own, only to fall further in, her skis hitting and getting tangled in each other again. Yes, they might actually need the help—]
no subject
[Another laugh as he feels them more tangled.]
Give it up, love! Just get some people to pull us out!
no subject
You are still sure this is a good idea?
no subject
What, it was just one mishap. Surely you don't want to give up now, do you?
[A challenging grin.]
no subject
Of course not.
[How dare he insinuate that she would give up so soon!?]
I merely wanted to be certain that you were alright to continue, old man.
[Said with utmost fondness of course, as she brushes her fingers through his hair to get the rest of the snowflakes out.]
no subject
[And he'll brush off the snow from her hair and shoulders, tucking a few ruffled strands back in their place.]
But right, let's work on that stopping more before we try again.
no subject
You mean my stopping.
[A little sigh before she's taking one of his hands in her own so that they can shuffle back towards the hill together. They might as well keep practicing there—as much as she hates the idea of making a fool of herself again, she is not going to learn how to stop by simply sliding along the flatter ground, is she? Well? I told you I was a fast learner.
no subject
Still, he just laughs and looks at her with a bit of pride after wiping off some of that snow (thank goodness for these ski googles he's wearing).]
Should we try together then? And then the larger slope?
no subject
Together?
[Her brows arch in surprise, and pretty sure she's misreading what he means...]
You mean as in holding hands?
no subject
Might be a bit much for us. I was just thinking side by side.
[But she is very cute for thinking such a thing.]
no subject
[Embarrassed by that little misunderstanding, she averts her gaze and clears her throat.]
Right, of course. Yes, let us do that.
[A glance up at the little hill, and then back at him.]
First one to reach the bottom is the winner?
no subject
Just try not to crash.
[And he'll lead their waddling way back up the hill.]
