Who: Cidolfus Telamon & Benedikta Harman. Status: Closed. Where: The Roost, The Farplane. What: Cid and Benedikta move to a new house in the Roost. Event stuff later. Warnings: The usual. :)
[He can probably already guess some of them. Of course, all of this is just playful banter as she continues to blindly walk where he guides her. It's not as if she needs any of these things, but they would certainly be nice bonuses.]
A larger bath, a cooler and small wine rack for our bedroom, a new set of towels, and... a bigger bed.
[She does trip as they round the bend, her hands going out on either side to balance herself against the walls. But she can sense the shift in the air—the crisper, cleaner air that billows past her, carrying with it the soft, subtle scent of flowers. She raises a curious brow.]
[She can hear his smile and the quiet chuckle that comes along with those words, and soon she'll feel a strong breeze, their footsteps echoing less as the distant sound of leaves rustling can seen be heard.]
[The next shift leaves her curious, the sound of leaves rustling and the clearer breeze are not things that she expected from being inside a cave, and now she'll try to be sneaky and grab a peek.]
You had best not be taking me up to the gryphons at this rate, Cidolfus. Where are we going?
[She sputters out his name when she's spun, her hands going to his shoulders for balance at the sudden movement. And there's a beat of confusion when she feels that wind disappear, and the echoing of their footsteps that tells her—]
Tunnel? Again? I do hope this is not one of those "shortcuts" you mentioned...
Is it relly so much of a surprise as you already know what it is?
[A quiet chuckle by her ear as he shifts to be more behind her before he finally removes his hand so that she can see.
What she'll find is that she's standing at the end of a tunnel that opens up to a wider area, fresh air blowing through, and in front of her is a stone house a little larger than the one they are living in now. Like the other homes in the Roost, it's made of cobbled stones, this one made of browns and grays. However, there are some differences. The exterior has been polished and refinished, the windows having new shutters of a deep forest green. There are some planters that line them, a few flowers and easy to grow herbs already blooming. Other flowers bloom along the walls, the vines crawling upwards. The area itself is also brighter compared to the one on the floor. There's ample light down there, but here there's brighter sunlight...
...And that is because of the opening above them which is much closer compared to how the skylights are much higher above. Due to the height, they are closer to the cavern ceiling, which makes it easier for such a more direct access. It does have a window panel covering it to prevent rain and animals from flying in similar to the ones they use on the other skylights, but like them they can be opened and closed with a device. Right now, it's open. The light washes over not only the house, but the spacious stone floor which has been cleared of any old debris that had been around. She'll also hear the sound of water trickling on the other side as well as another gust of wind that blows in from what looks to be the rear of the house, carrying it the sweet scent of flowers.
Should she step out further into the space, she'll find that there is a large opening to the left, revealing that the house sits on one of the many alcoves that line the cavern warns, allowing one to walk up to the edge and look over the main hub below. A railing has already been built for safety reasons, and she can see some scaffolding indicating there is still more construction going on on that side. All of which he'll explain in due time, but he's just going to wait to see what she thinks.]
[She only laughs softly at his comment because yes, she already knew what the surprise was, but that had been about all she did know. This was a project that he had taken on himself, and all of the details were a mystery to her, including the location. That, and she thought it cute that he had wanted to surprise her like this, and so she went along with it. More and more, she finds herself going along with his silliness these days...
But as his hands fall away from her eyes for the reveal, what she was expecting and what she sees in front of her are two very different things. Her life as of late has not left her wanting for much else, but this is far more than she could have asked for. The cobblestone walls, the flowers, the sound of trickling water from somewhere, the sun that shines in through the large skylights above...
She can feel the breeze coming through, and after a wide-eyed glance at Cid, she follows it, only to spot the opening that looks over the rest of the caves where they live now.
And then back to the house she wanders, taking it all in wordlessly, because really, she's far too awestruck at the moment to say much of anything. Her eyes naturally go up to the skylights as she stands in a circle of sunlight, allowing the cool breeze to wash over her. It's a conflicting feeling, that, but...]
Cidolfus...
[She turns to him, the sunlight washing her surprise in a warm glow.]
[His smile widens as he watches her, noting her expression as she takes it all in and feeling a bit of pride by how clearly taken she is.
Stepping up to her, places his arm around her waist to guide her further around.]
There's still quite a bit to show you.
[And before stepping inside the house, he'll take her around to the other side so she'll see the small fountain pool on that far wall where the sound of water had come from.]
Still working on it a bit, but this is fresh water that runs from outside and continues through the cavern through a small tunnel inside the pool. The house has plumbing installed, but this is where our water will be coming from.
[He should be proud, and she will be sure to tell him as much when she finds the proper words to do so. At the moment, she is still stunned, especially so when he leads her around to the other side. On the way, she takes in the flowers, the sides of the house, tries to peek into one of the windows, and when they arrive at the small fountain pool against the wall, she is rendered speechless once more.
Finally, after a few more moments of looking around, taking it all in, she finds her voice again.]
Fortunately a lot of this was already here, so it was just a matter of cleaning it up and ensuring everything was stable. It also helps we have a few members who have become something of "stonemasons" after living here for a time.
[She turns to face him more fully now, her arms going around his shoulders as she draws him in for a kiss. A sweet, lingering one that says all the things that she still has yet to find the right words to say to express it all, but for now, this will have to do.]
You have somehow outdone yourself again, Cidolfus. And I have not even seen it all yet...
[He smiles against her lips, arms going around her waist to pull her in closer. Really, it was just another house and yet... He does feel rather proud about this. It's on par to them finishing the treehouse, something that makes it really feel like they are continuing to advanced through these new chapters in their life together.]
Want to see the inside then? It's mostly finished, just need to move everything in.
[And he just grins as he takes her hand and leads her to the front door, though as they walk around the house she'll notice there is another door that exits out of the back.
Once inside, she'll see that it is indeed quite bare as he warned, but that just gives it more of that "new home" feeling, similar to their tree house. The front door opens up to a large space that would likely be the main living area given the fireplace on one side of the wall and the sunlight pouring through the skylight above. From there there is an exit leading towards the dining and kitchen area and another that goes out to a hallway that would lead to two more rooms. One would be the main bedroom with a full bathroom attached, and the other could be used for an office or bedroom. There is a second, smaller separate bathroom that any guest could use.]
[She is only this impatient when it comes to matters of them. She wants to know what he's up to, the anticipation only growing as he leads her by the hand inside. She follows, practically hanging off of him as he takes her through the front door, and just like outside, she is just as awestruck by what she finds inside. It's small, but not too small. It's more quaint than anything, but it is bright with sunlight as it filters through the skylight above the living room and the windows all around. A stark contrast to their current home in the cave.]
Cidolfus...
[It's her turn now to lead him, tugging him along as she heads further inside, pausing in the living room to admire the skylight in the ceiling, standing in light.]
This is... everything that I had wanted. Everything that I had asked for...
no subject
[She grins, even if he can't see it.]
... But I have other requests if you'd rather I choose something else.

A larger bath, a cooler and small wine rack for our bedroom, a new set of towels, and... a bigger bed.

[But she'll hear the amusement in his voice as they go around a curve. She'll also feel cleaner, fresher air starting to drift through.]
Now is this for our house here or for the treehouse?
no subject
Why can't it be for both?
no subject
One has more space and the other is more limited. And you realize we already have the largest bed possible? Any larger and it would be the whole room.
no subject
[She laughs, her hand caressing the back of his.]
Then I would like the comfiest quilts and throws possible for the bed.

no subject
Not just yet, we're almost there.
[However, instead of hitting open air, she'll hear them going away from that cool breeze and back into the tunnel.]
no subject
Tunnel? Again? I do hope this is not one of those "shortcuts" you mentioned...

[She echoes it with some sarcasm edging her voice.]
Leaving room for a "maybe". Cidolfus, truly, where are we going? I thought you wanted to stay close to the rest of the crew.
[Even if she had protested as much at first...]
no subject
[Still not answering~ But it really is not much farther for after a few more steps, he stops.]
All right, are you ready?
no subject
I have been ready since you put your hands over my eyes and we started climbing.

Ever impatient. I'm saving the best for last.
