I know.

[His hand runs up the back of her neck and through her hair, cradling her in his arms.]

It's a lot to take in for me, too. But we won't be back here for some time yet, so we don't have to think about it anymore. Just knowing it exists is enough.

[garudas]

Mm, I do hope so...

[She moves in to kiss the crinkles at the corners of his eyes.]

We've still a long life ahead of us outside of this place to live first. ... But it does not seem so terrible. Not as I thought.

[ramuhs]

Should we explore a little more then? See what else there before we head out to do the real work?

[garudas]

I suppose we could, yes.

[But her arms don't seem so inclined to loosen around his shoulders.]

Where do you want to go?

[ramuhs]

[A low hum as he also makes no move to put her down.]

Should we walk around here? The view's rather nice.

[And he's already starting to walk.]

[garudas]

[She chuckles against his lips.]

We are going to walk like this? Are you certain you are up to the task?

[ramuhs]

You do feel lighter like this...

[garudas]

[She gives him a very pointed look.]

I believe the correct answer would have been "you are always light, my dove..."

[ramuhs]

Which means you are even lighter than the feather you always are, my dove.

[Smooth.]

[garudas]

[Uh huh... so smooth, but she can't help but laugh at that.]

It is almost as if you had practiced that line for an occasion like this.

[ramuhs]

I haven't the foggiest what you mean. Everything I say has always been natural.

[And down this path he goes...though maybe he should put her down because this is an actual incline.]

[garudas]

Of course it is.

[Maybe he should. She will let him carry her for as long as he wants to, but she will say something.]

Are you sure that you want to continue carrying me? I may be tired, but I can walk, you know.

[ramuhs]

As much as I am loathe to release you...

[He glances down at the path.]

I must it admit it may be easier if we walked together.

[garudas]

[Her arms slide away from his shoulders then, awaiting the moment that he places her on her feet again, and the moment that he does, her hand will find his to hold. That small part of her still needs that comfort, a distraction from her wayward thoughts.]

We should start looking for a path down to the cracks... It was closer to the Uncharted, yes?

[ramuhs]

[With their hands together, he'll lead them down that slow walk down the slope.]

Aye, and it looks like we're not too far from it. They said there was some kind of barrier around the place, so if we likely need to go beyond it.

[garudas]

There may be a barrier, but that does not mean we should let our guards down.

[A light squeeze of his hand as she recalls what Lily and Marcus had warned them about.]

The more desperate souls could still find a way past it.

[ramuhs]

That's true. Could already be inside.

[He instinctively pulls her a little closer, though it is hard to imagine such a thing with fields as beautiful as they are below them.]

Just remember if something does happen, we have that talisman they gave us. Use it to get out.

[garudas]

[She pats the front of her coat where she keeps the talisman within reach.]

A bit strange that the souls could even tell the state of us...

[ramuhs]

Aye...a little disconcerting to be sure. But I suppose it makes some sense, too.

[garudas]

[She makes a noise in agreement.]

Well, let us hope that they can also sense that we are a force to be reckoned with. So that we might try to enjoy our time wandering for now.

[For all the feelings that being here provokes, it is still a very beautiful place.]

[ramuhs]

[He smiles at that as his hand squeezes hers before he playfully swings it.]

Only a foolish soul would dare to try.

[When they reach a small gap, he hops across easily and has their hands held stretched out as if to have her jump to him.]

[garudas]

[She grins at him and their hands before she leaps over the gap with him, landing at his side.]

You don't suppose the souls have to eat here, do you? I hadn't thought to bring snacks with us.

[ramuhs]

I doubt it. Where would the food even go?

[A low chuckle as they continue to descend.]

Then again, I thought some places that looked like restaurants or cafes... And I did see fruit trees. Perhaps they use ghostly ingredients and absorb the energy?

[garudas]

[She doesn't want to consider that question.]

I wonder if we could eat them... say, if we plucked a peach from a tree...

[As her eyes start to wander.]

[ramuhs]

[A wry grin.]

Wasn't there a story that if you eat something from the underworld you are then trapped and must stay in it?

[A mischievous grin as he leans towards her.]

I'd be careful what you eat here, my dear.
