[Not backing down, he'll just move in close to her glass.]

Well of course I was... how could anyone not? I've just never seen a creature look so... ridiculous and quite honestly, a little bit stupid.
[She certainly hopes that the fish cannot understand anything she says, because this isn't the first time that she has said it.]
I was merely curious.

I think if you spent some time with them you would come to enjoy them and realize their true charm.
no subject
....
Okay, now that gets her attention a little more.]
How much time have you spent with them?
no subject
Suppose a fair bit. There's a pool not too far from the workshop, and I would go there every now and then for my breaks. Just something about watching them and their funny little faces that help relieve whatever frustration I may be having at the time.
Quite fun feeding them, too, with how their mouths open in that silly way of theirs.
no subject
Oh, is that where you kept them? I did spot you there once, staring intently at the water lost in thought, with that concentrated look that you get.
[She runs her thumb over his brow line with a snort.]
If I had known all you were doing is watching their mouths open and close... I might have thought to interrupt you rather than leaving you be.
no subject
I would have tried to have you join me if you did.
[So is she sure she wants to do that—]
And I have been inspired by them a few times. But there are a few pools that they can swim through throughout the caves. Shame they don't go up to the one near the house.
no subject
[Has he created things that look like them??? As she thinks back to previous projects of his, nothing strikes her quite as ugly—]
no subject
Mostly on some physical and dynamics applications. For instance, the way they moved their mouths gave me an idea on how to work with some hinges on a few projects. The way they swim has also given me some ideas for works dealing with underwater applications.

[She motions to the glass and then downs a little more of her wine, as if she cannot believe she is having this conversation with him right now.]
Here I was afraid you were going to tell me that you had made things that look like them. Are there not any better creatures for you to study?
no subject
[A playful wink followed by a smug sip of his wine.]
no subject
[Her chuckle echoes into her glass.]
Just as long as you are aware that it needs to stay in the workshop. Or somewhere else that is not our mantle.
no subject
[A teasing wink.]
But what's so wrong having it on full display? In fact, perhaps I should make it the crew's official mascot...
no subject
The gryphons might have something to say about that. As will I.
[A wave of her hand.]
I will have to find myself another crew.
no subject
[He moves in closer to her.]
You wouldn't dare.
no subject
[She's totally bluffing right now, but she grins at him over her glass.]
Try me.
no subject
Well, if you're going to go to another crew, I suppose you won't be needing the house.
[SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP.]
no subject
Well, it was not as if I planned to unmarry you, but if you intend to put that thing inside the house, then I suppose I will have no choice.
no subject
Can you truly not open your heart to it?
[What if he gives her bit pouty eyes.]
no subject
No. Should you wish for me to stay, you will need to find someplace else for it. Unfortunately, it is me or the fish.
no subject
Torn between two loves, what is a man to do?
no subject
I am certain that I could convince you.
no subject
[He slowly swirls his almost empty glass as he eyes her. Ridiculous, yes, but she could wear a garbage back and he'd still think her the most beautiful woman in the world.]
And how would you do that?
no subject
[Stretching over the table, tilting her head back and staring at him from below her lashes with a sweet smile.]
We still have one more glass charm to attempt, so why don't I show you later?
no subject
Even if I see a different kind of "piece" I'd like to work on?
