But she'll slip her hand from his so that they may start prepping the glass.]
What do you suppose it will turn out to be?
no subject
But that is a good question. One big fancy heart?
no subject
Just a heart? What about a heart with wings?
no subject
no subject
[Not that she really minds... as she leans forward to take a look into the kiln, making sure that the glass is in place for melting.]
no subject
Well what else would capture our "essence" so well?
no subject
[Really, she genuinely does not know what it could be.]
A bird riding a little lightning cloud?
no subject
no subject
[They are different, you see!
She chuckles.]
A bird holding a heart riding a lightning cloud? I fear we might be messing around with our essences too much.
no subject
Perhaps we shouldn't try thinking about it. Who knows what might come of it.
[He then smiles.]
Let's give it one more try of our own, and then work on the one together.
no subject
Then I might need one more reminder before we do ours together. You've got me all distracted now.
no subject
[A mischievous grin at her.]
I feel I may only serve as another distraction if I give you a reminder now.
no subject
Later, after this. I am trying to focus on creating this final piece.
no subject
I'll try not to be too distracting in the meantime.
[And with that last bit of teasing, the two will resume their attempts in figuring out what kind of creation their "essence" should bring. Although initially planned for one more attempt. Cid will need a couple more as his next few tries prove.... Interesting. Progress, he believes, but interesting all the same.
They were all similar shape—something oblong with a triangle—but the end result was too abstract for him to make heads or tails of it. So much so that he wondered if that really what it was—just some abstract thing with not clear meaning. But after the second try, where he focused more on trying to create the craft, he could see a more telltale shape forming. Still one giant blobby mess, but there were more refined edges and curves to it.
It would be around his fourth attempt that he'll let out a shout of success as the shape of a ship finally forms. It had taken more concentration than usual, along with some earnest determination, but it was there. Might not be the most perfect ship, but compared to some of the other...creations, it was quite distinct and clear of what it was.
Why a ship, he's not sure. Frankly he expected something lightning related, or even his tools.
But whatever, he can think on that later. By then Benedikta had come to his side to watch and cheer him on, so with a bit of celebration he swings her around with a kiss before laughing.]

[She blows him a kiss first before she turns her attention to the glass. Her attempts are far less fruitful at first. She ends up with strange blobs that amount to nothing—that or she does not have the patience to keep going with them after she ends up with green-coloured shapes. She thinks that they are attempts at becoming birds, but she really might be far too distracted for it to turn into anything clear. At first, at least. The more she works, the better it becomes, and while the first attempts are small, she can see them taking shape more distinctly with every attempt. While Cid has four, Benedikta ends up with seven, and she grows more frustrated with each and decides to take a break when she sees that Cid is making some decent progress.
During his fourth attempt, she sets her things down to watch him instead, intrigued at what might come out of it when she sees the way it forms into something...
And when she sees what is very clearly a ship, although not perfect by any means, she is there to cheer with him, throwing her arms around him at his success and kissing him as he swings her around. She very nearly kicks the table and knocks everything from it in the process—
They relish in the joy of it a little longer, and Benedikta pours them a glass of wine to share as if this is some big celebration, though with how long they've been spending on it, it may as well be!
But now it is Benedikta's turn for her final try, and with Cid there to help her and recenter her, she is finally able to make something come of it. It is slow to take shape, and she uses up plenty of air from her lungs in order to do so, but...
It appears to be a bird with its wings spread, its head turned up as if looking to the clouds, preparing to take off into the sky. How very fitting, she thinks, and once again, she leaps into Cid's arms for a celebratory kiss before she's showing it off to him more closely.
And now with that out of the way—]
Do you suppose we are ready for this final one together?
no subject
Now with the celebratory break over, he grins next to her.]
I'd say so. And I believe the best way is if we both hold the pipe and take turns blowing into it.
no subject
Hmm, I agree. Would you like to do the honours of going first?
[He seems to be better at this anyway!]
no subject
Mm, you don't want to?
[A playful smile.]
But I could, sure. Get it started for you.
no subject
[She leans in close to speak softly near his ear.]
I always enjoy watching you work.
[And she isn't just saying that to get out of doing it... if the way she runs her free hand along the back of his.
There is just something about watching her dear husband do things he is good at.]
no subject
Well— [Slight clearing of his throat as he feels both amused and a little embarrassed he feels this way.] Better play close attention then.
[And trying to play it off, he gives her a sweet peck on the cheek before straightening to set up the glass and pipe.]
no subject
After he offers her that peck on the cheek, her gaze follows him, eyes filled with a warm fondness over a scalding heat.
Just when she thought she could not love him any more than she did just a few seconds ago...]
Oh, I am paying very close attention.
[She steps up beside him, a hand grazing his back again before she lets him work, watching as he sets it all up.]
You are adorable, do you know that?
no subject
Adorable? Nonsense.
no subject
How is that nonsense?
[Now she is just teasing him, but with all the fondness she has to spare.]
Did I make your heart go all aflutter?
no subject
[And he'll prove it by shoving that pipe into the kiln to get the molten glass!!!
He's a tough manly man!! With a soft side. BUT NOT ADORABLE!!!!]
